Katherine White, BA, BSW, MEd, MSW, RSW
Clinical Social Worker
Katherine White is a clinical social worker offering counselling services to children, youth, parents/caregivers, and helping professionals. She specializes in child and youth mental health, intergenerational healing, cycle breaking, professional burnout, trauma, domestic/intimate partner violence, and neuro-affirming practice.
Her approach blends trauma-informed practice with systems-informed and neuro-affirming care. She tailors her approach to each person's unique needs. She draws includes a blend of strengths-based approaches, attachment theory, internal family systems, polyvagal theory, narrative and solution-focused approaches. When working with children, she primarily uses a child-led and play-based approach. WIth both children and adults, she enjoys incorporating the creative arts in her therapeutic work.
She has worked in both clinical and systems-level roles. Her professional background crosses community, government, health, and non-profit settings. She is the founder and former director of a province-wide family services agency. She has consulted on the development of provincial programs in complex child and youth mental health care and high-risk domestic/intimate partner violence.
Katherine sees mental health as inseparable from the systems around us. She is a big-picture thinker and has a strong interest in how services can be designed to be more sustainable for both families and providers. She offers organizational consultation, and partners with collaborators to build infrastructure for increased community capacity.
